Christmas Photos, Part 1 of 3

Happy New Year!

The 2007 Family Christmas album is now online. This one is just our “immediate” family — Mom, Dad, Andrew, Holly, Ella, Lily, Jenelle, and me. I’ll have a couple more out soon.

In other news, a face appeared in the northwest corner of our backyard just before Christmas, so I took a picture. Who is it?

2007 Christmas Letter

With two weeks until the big day, I’m thrilled to annouce that our Christmas letter is now online.

Some of you will also be receiving cards in the mail. Some will get the Hawaii picture, and some will get the picture from Dyan’s wedding. We ordered equal quantities of both, so it’s a 50-50 shot. Good luck!

Brrrrr….

Snowfall #2 hit us today. We’re managing just fine, but it’s always tough to get used to the cold.

As for our Christmas preparations, things are going great. The tree is up, we’ve bought over half our presents, and the lights are up also. The picture I just put on the BenCam has specks from the flash reflecting off the snow. Kinda neat.

In other news, my brother and his family look like they’re having a blast getting ready for Christmas.

Oregon Trip!

Last weekend, we went to a place where there’s no sales tax and someone always pumps your gas for you. No, it’s not some kind of fantasy world — it’s Oregon. Another weekend, another out-of-state trip.

We left on Friday morning and flew to Portland, Oregon, to visit Jenelle’s family in Beaverton. After lunch at Red Robin, we relaxed at Dave and Pam’s house. While Jenelle and Pam went grocery shopping, I took a nap. 🙂 We took it easy for the rest of the night.

On Saturday, we had a big dinner with lots of family coming over. Brian, Erica, Jeff, Josie, Lucas, Grandma & Grandpa Walter, and Grandma Comeau joined the four of us for a great meal. It was nice to see everyone again.

On Sunday, I ran 15 miles in the morning, including a jaunt up the steepest hill I’ve ever run (14% grade). Don’t worry, Mom, I took it slow. 🙂

After the run, we went shopping at Washington Square mall. We took advantage of the lack of sales tax in Portland. I also stopped at the movie theater for some kettle corn, which is quickly becoming a regular feature of all my Oregon trips. For dinner, we joined Jeff and Lucas at the Spaghetti Factory.

As much as we wanted to stay longer, we flew back on Monday morning. Thanks to Dave and Pam for all of their hospitality!

Enjoy photos from Sunday. Sorry, I didn’t think of taking any pictures before that.

Buffalo Trip

Yet another photo album is ready for everyone. I went with Andrew to Buffalo, New York for a Bills game. I brought my camera. Enjoy!

Grand Rapids Photos

We didn’t take a lot of pictures, but eight photos from Grand Rapids are now available.

Jenelle got some great video footage, so I’m putting that together now.

Twin Cities Marathon Pictures / Video

With a lot of family in town for my cousin Dyan’s wedding, it’s been another exciting weekend. While I’m still processing all the fun we’ve had, enjoy pictures from the Twin Cities Marathon.

I also uploaded a video, which is available on the movies page. It’s a big one (over 26 megabytes) — I guess I should learn how to use Google Video.

Anyway — thanks again to Andrew, Holly, Aunt Gail, Mom & Dad, Mary & Dave, Dan & Donna, and everyone who supported me during the race!

New Movie!

On the Fox 6 weather report tonight, the “feature photo” was submitted by Grandpa Milt. I transferred it to DV from our HD converter, so there’s gray bars on the top and bottom of the video, but hopefully you can experience it well enough by watching this.

Site Content Plus

In an effort to revitalize the web site, I’ve modified some of the things in the right-hand column.

1) I’ve added a weather sticker below the BenCam graphic. Wow, it’s warm today!
2) The “Birthdays & Anniversaries” section shows all birthdays and anniversaries occurring within the last week or the next two weeks. Well, all the ones I have in my database, anyway. Let me know if yours is missing.
3) The “Family History” section is connected directly to my famous This Day in Isaacson Family History site. Click on one of the links to browse today’s entries or all of the entries for the current month.

The neat thing about each of these new items is that they automatically update themselves each day. So, even if I go weeks without making a blog entry, the site is still changing on a daily basis.

Family members: Allow me to make one more plug for the history site. There’s 80 events right now, with room for plenty more. You can add your own events to the site using this handy form. Add whatever you like, even if you’re a somewhat distant relative. 🙂

Madison Marathon Movie Added

Check out the movies page for a short video of my run in Madison in May. There’s several photos and one video clip. Jenelle did a pretty good job capturing media, especially considering that I signed up for this race the day before. 🙂

Update: I also uploaded a movie from the Waukesha Trailbreaker Marathon, which was on March 31.
