Last weekend, we went to a place where there’s no sales tax and someone always pumps your gas for you. No, it’s not some kind of fantasy world — it’s Oregon. Another weekend, another out-of-state trip.
We left on Friday morning and flew to Portland, Oregon, to visit Jenelle’s family in Beaverton. After lunch at Red Robin, we relaxed at Dave and Pam’s house. While Jenelle and Pam went grocery shopping, I took a nap. 🙂 We took it easy for the rest of the night.
On Saturday, we had a big dinner with lots of family coming over. Brian, Erica, Jeff, Josie, Lucas, Grandma & Grandpa Walter, and Grandma Comeau joined the four of us for a great meal. It was nice to see everyone again.
On Sunday, I ran 15 miles in the morning, including a jaunt up the steepest hill I’ve ever run (14% grade). Don’t worry, Mom, I took it slow. 🙂
After the run, we went shopping at Washington Square mall. We took advantage of the lack of sales tax in Portland. I also stopped at the movie theater for some kettle corn, which is quickly becoming a regular feature of all my Oregon trips. For dinner, we joined Jeff and Lucas at the Spaghetti Factory.
As much as we wanted to stay longer, we flew back on Monday morning. Thanks to Dave and Pam for all of their hospitality!
Enjoy photos from Sunday. Sorry, I didn’t think of taking any pictures before that.
