January 2014 Photo Album

There’s sixty more photos online in the January 2014 album. I’m amazed at how many photos we captured of Jonas climbing on things. He’s still just as active today (if not more).

I can also tell that a lot of these were taken with my old iPhone 3GS that has much poorer quality than my current iPhone 5S.

Looking at this particular picture makes me long for another trip to Minnesota and a big family breakfast at the pancake house. Yum.

WHERE HAVE I BEEN? December 2013 Photos

For whatever reason, the site has gone without update for 6+ months, and I am almost a year behind on photo albums.

December 2013 seems like ages ago. Jonas was walking and exploring, but he was nowhere near as interactive as he is now.

We celebrated Eliana’s third birthday. Back then, an afternoon nap was the norm for her. Today, it’s the exception.

Thankfully, I’ve been quite regular in updating the kids’ mailing list pages (though sometimes a day or two late), so you can use those to watch the kids grow up until I get caught up on photos.

2013 Christmas Letter

It’s tough to sum up a year in a few paragraphs, but I tried anyway.

Isaacson Family Christmas Letter – 2013

Fun fact: If you change the year in the URL from 2013 to an earlier year, you can read past letters all the way back to 2003. Wow. I’m getting old. And so are the internets.

More November and December Photos

That’s right. April is almost over, and I just put up a bunch of pictures from November and December. There were already lots of pics from the arrival of Jonas, but the new November album has more, chronicling all the times I took Eliana to a nearby park while Jenelle was with Jonas at the hospital.

The December album is massive, but I wanted to include the work holiday party, Eliana’s second birthday, Christmas, and several of Jonas that show you how quickly he is growing.

I hope to blog on a much more regular basis in the days and weeks ahead, but I can’t make any promises. When your kids are this little, you can miss something if you blink. Anyway, enjoy the pics!

Christmas Lights!

When it comes to Christmas decorations, our neighbors across the street always do way more than we do. However, I am happy to report that we actually put up some lights this year. I was going to do it in 2010, but Eliana showed up early, and then it was too darn cold.

Anyway, a big thanks to Jenelle’s dad, Dave, who had the courage and the know-how to set up and climb a big extension ladder multiple times to get those icicle lights up on the roof. Now I’m just waiting for Jenelle’s parents to come back and visit so that we can take them down. 🙂 (Reminder: When taking down the lights, also get the wire that’s hanging from the satellite dish that the previous owners installed.)

An Isaacson Family Christmas 2011

Here’s the Isaacson Family Christmas 2011 photo album!

It’s always great when my brother Andrew and his family come into town for a visit. We all gathered at my parents’ house a few days after Christmas to open gifts, play games, and just enjoy each other’s company. There are now TEN of us, so there’s never a dull moment.

The photo of Andrew and Eliana above is great, but there’s also a funny shot of me playing the Disney version of Hedbanz. I used to be pretty smart with Disney-related trivia, but I since haven’t been following the latest movies/shows, I didn’t fare too well against my nieces (Ella and Lily). Oh well — it’s still fun to play!

A Walter Family Christmas 2011

Here’s the Oregon Christmas 2011 photo album!

With Eliana’s birth in December 2010, there was no way we could travel to Oregon to celebrate Christmas with the Walters. So, we were definitely making the trip in 2011. As always, we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed breakfast with the family on Christmas morning and opened gifts soon afterward. We had plenty of days left over to cruise around town and get plenty of shopping and other fun activities done. We also spent some time with our friends the Boedings (Dave, Amanda, Adelaide, and introducing Thaddeus).

Lots more photos here!

Happy New Year!  If the past week is any indication, 2011 is going to be an eventful year for us.  Here’s the highlights of our holiday gatherings:

Christmas Day (Dec. 25): Jenelle, Eliana, and I went to the airport to pick up Jenelle’s parents, who flew in from Oregon.  We parked the car so that we could see Dave & Pam the moment they got past the security checkpoint.  This was Dave’s first opportunity to meet Eliana, and he was quite thrilled.  Eliana must also have been excited, as she had a “present” of her own to share.  Babies have incredible timing.  We spent the rest of the day at home relaxing.  We opened a few presents, but the big party was a few days later.

December 27: We spent most of the day planning and preparing for the big gathering that would happen the next day.  Andrew, Holly, Ella, and Lily came over in the evening for a short visit.  They all enjoyed meeting and holding Eliana.  I got at least one picture of each of them.

December 28: This was the big gathering with Jenelle’s parents, my parents, Andrew, Holly, Ella, Lily, and Kellan.  We had a wonderful time opening presents, which were plentiful.  We followed that up with a tasty Christmas dinner — thanks to Pam for all her hard work on that.

December 31: I took Dave & Pam to the airport in the early morning hours.  It was sad to see them go, but we were very thankful for the time they got to spend with us.  Our New Year’s Eve was not as exciting as in some years past, but we enjoyed the time to ourselves.  It was nice to have a break from all the family excitement.

Just in case you missed the photo album link above, here it is one more time.  Christmas photos with Ben, Jenelle, and Eliana (mostly Eliana).

Baby’s First Christmas, Part 1

Even more Eliana photos!

Shown above is the outfit that Eliana wore on Christmas Eve.  We all enjoyed the 3:00 service at Kenosha Bible Church.  Eliana barely made a peep — there were lots of other louder kids in attendance.  :)  She also seemed to like it when Jill, the pastor’s wife, held her for a while.  We also passed her around to a few more friends who we haven’t seen lately.

That evening, we ventured north to Great Grandpa Nick & Great Grandma Iz’s place for family fun.  Eliana got way too many presents, including the first contribution to her college fund.  Thanks again, everyone!  It was great to be able to gather with everyone and share in the joy of Christmas.

Jenelle’s parents arrived from Oregon yesterday, so look for more Christmas news here soon!

Merry Christmas!

Here’s our 2009 Christmas letter. We’re keeping it short and sweet this year.

I’ll have details from the last day of our Cayman Islands trip posted soon!
